After Maggi heartache, switch to traditional Indian snacks

My phone has been popping up with all the messages of Maggi jokes and Maggi's sudden demise from the market. We have a habit to hide our sentiments by joking on such issues. When people get shocked they remove their stress by joking about that issue. Long back when Maggi had been questioned people did not leave worshipping it as it was the instant solution to reduce our hunger pangs, because of its tagline bas 2 minute mei.
Now that the Lead content being found in Maggi ( and please don't associate it with pencil's lead), people may become much cautious about the instant food making products.
I suggest everyone better stop pondering upon the Maggi news and better get going with our traditional Indian snacks like Poha, Upma, Pakodas etc. Although these snacks do take some time to make but they are tastier than an instant noodle and certainly don't cause threat to our health. I think its high time for people to move over instant cooking products and switch over to some tasty Indian healthy snacks. We obviously cannot ignore the fact that Indians snacks do relieve our taste buds as compared to an instant noodle.
It has been observed that people have switched over to instant food cooking due to their busy schedule and also having less knowledge about cooking real food in the kitchen. Its high time that people should pay attention to their food eating habits and food products they bring in their kitchen. Certainly jokes on Maggi will not bring peace to your grieving heart which pounds for instant food products. :P

NET and SET Examinations, is it enough to pass them?

As the NET and SET examinations are approaching most of the budding examinees are trying their various study approaches to pass this highly esteemed examination. Most of the times it is seen that months and years of hard work and some times sheer luck in the cut off merit list, one can achieve a NET and SET examination certificate.
A recent argument on the permission to consider Ph.D. as equivalent to the NET qualified had been debated and disagreed by many well known educationists. They evaluated that  Ph.D. cannot assess a person's ability to teach students.
Although NET and SET examinations are said to be most useful for the budding college teachers to get a good job or an opportunity of research fellowship in University in their respective streams, there should also be an aim of updating and acknowledging a teachers knowledge regularly. This will help the teachers to be updated on the current issues in their stream but also to teach the tech savvy students in a better way.
It is constantly observed that the teachers are thorough with theoretical knowledge but do not pay attention to the practical skills.  This has made teachers to lag behind the fast changing technologies and technologically able students.
It is difficult to assess and prepare all  the teachers for such a challenge but such a skill based scheme should be proposed which will obviously be the first step in improving teaching in  higher education standards in the country!!!

Why I hate Hindi serials?

I come home tired and sleepy, n there is my mum sitting and watching T.V.with her favorite T.V.  serial telecasting.....oh and actually its the first  among the favorite t.v. serial, there are rest of the shows too, which she watches right from 6.00 to 10.00 pm. :(
I have been through this dilemma now for 10 years. Before that mumma liked to watch what we did but after this tv serial bug has bitten my poor mumma,  she cant help watching them and asking for more.
They(tv serials) usually have patterns. The lady has lost her memory and her husband is trying to recover her memory and i am damn sure when the lady recovers her memory her husband may loose his so that the serial could continue for another 100 episodes. There are saas bahu serials where there  is a mother -in-law always praising her Gopi bahu (well that's something new....usually we don't see this character in mother in- laws), but there is endless shouting by the lady meri gopi bahu ,meri gopi bahu. You may not believe it once i was sharing my problems at work with mumma and she gave me example of gopi bahu that how she solved the problems in her life.
I am damn sure there maybe thousands of victims like me, who are deeply   injured by these Hindi serials and want their mumma back. Overall i want to see my mumma happy and hence none of us disturb her while watching.  But too much hindi serials are injurious to health and they don't have a statutory warning also....that's the sad part of it :(

The Definition of having FRIENDS!!!!!!

Don't be amazed if you happen to hear this......."I have 3000 friends now!!!!"(In social networking site of-course)…..this is the reality of an individual today. People have become prey to social attention in social networking sites and prone to remain in infatuation that they have many friends. I won’t say I am not a victim of this craziness, but I would rather define myself as an elegant netizen (the craziest of all-: who knows all the consequences but still does it!!!)
Now the most blatant thing in the social networking site is  that you will be friends with every other person you know in this world-: you will have school friends (half of them will remember you as someone else), college friends(those who have heard your name), office friends(who remember you especially at lunch time), club friends( where you have no idea what you are there for), booze friends( if you drink then you will find many friends in this section, they are patient, loving and trustworthy until you pay for their drinks or you die due to liver failure), real friends(those whom you actually happen to know), virtual friends(some of them may be corrupt programs) etc.
The person who was lonely before social network came, has now a record breaking friends online. Now their phone is their new best friend and they think they have expanded their social life. All I know is that everything has become just for show. You click pictures, write status and comments and share many things and people respond by liking your activities……but my question is do they actually like them? Has human expression has been replaced by emoticons and by couple of stickers??? Do I really have friends or they are just photographs???.....Is this all real????
When I discussed with one of my real friends about all this, she said, “If you will think so much about it then you will get depressed, better be in unreal world and remain happy rather than pondering on the real one”. Now for me it was like finding out that Santa Claus isn’t real but still remaining happy as long as I get cookies!!!
But I would rather end up with no friends than having many unreal friends!!!

Music........ is the best Medicine!!!!

Sometime back I chose to learn music to relieve my tension. I tried to choose the easiest instrument that won't judge my abilities as a first time learner- "the synthesizer". I was wrong in every aspect of judging the synthesizer as the easiest instrument of all. Music through it was easy to learn but needed feelings and I lacked that. It’s been almost 2 years since I have been learning synthesizer. In these two years not only my instrument has become my closest friend but also has become my consultant/therapist/teacher etc.
What I have learnt through music is to never give up on your passion to learn something new in life but also to think through heart rather than being practical all the time; never give up on yourself today because there will always be tomorrow to test your skills. So keep trying and keep learning, not only from music but from life itself.

If you ever get tensed in life and you think that life is a mess and everything is so monotonous, turn to music- it will give you self-realization!!!!

Traffic Stress

Today I have gone through the stupidest on road experiences of my life. I was on my way to work and was driving in the right lane when a public transport forcefully overtook me from right and made a cut towards left. I think the bus driver didn't even notice the size of his bus and also totally ignored the existence of my car.

The strangest on road experiences that made me learn many things
  1. Do not overtake a bus( because even if you can they won’t let you)
  2. Transport trucks always drive on the right side of the road ( and even if you try to overtake them from left they turn towards left)
  3. College youngsters own the roads( they ride their vehicles in a horizontal line like birds sitting on wires)
  4. Lovers  are rich (because they don’t bother about petrol, they believe that slow and steady wins the race; and whoever is behind them gets late)
  5. Women drivers are dangerous, but men are  far more worst than them (because they think women can’t drive well and eventually they forget their driving lessons and blame them)
  6. Always the small one is right, car hits two-wheeler, its car’s mistake. Two wheeler hits cycle, its two-wheeler’s mistake and so on...........

One day I was just standing near a traffic signal post when the timer of the green light counted 10, 9, 8, 7….., but on the other side of the road people were halfway down the square which made the green signal way vehicles to stop just at the countdown ‘6’.
Also the senior citizens always say that “nowadays children drive their vehicle so fast”.The person who said that was seen driving his car in high speed after some weeks(probably must have lost sense to judge his own actions, that’s aging!!!)
Anyways what matters the most is do not swear on anyone on the road (because they will swear back at you and maybe public humiliation will give you sleepless nights). Morale of the story is either you follow traffic rules properly or else you try to make adjustments with on road situation (which eventually you have to even if you follow the rules, people will “make you”). If you don’t want to follow any of the suggested advises then settle abroad and be among those morons who appreciate the traffic discipline of other countries and do not take the initiative to follow the discipline in their own country……

Technology: a friend or an enemy of a teacher????

Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore once said, "A teacher can never truly teach unless he is still learning himself. A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own flame. The teacher who has come to the end of his subject, who has no living traffic with his knowledge, but merely repeats his lessons to
his students, can only load their minds; he cannot quicken them" (Tagore 1996, p. 64).
With the developing needs of technology in our daily life, the need to understand and express ourselves in terms of technology has also increased. Children prefer websites rather than books. They do not want to go through same old lectures of why they should be studying and why they need to secure their future. For most  children future is just another day of getting up and go through the daily chores of getting ready, completing their homework and attending schools. The actual need of the time is getting students ready to live independently in the real world.
For a pupil, getting exposure to real life is actually meant to have a full grown profile on a social networking site, getting to know unknown people, presenting their life history as a unique and priceless moment and protruding "selfies" all over their account, is what they call their life. The most important aspect of this social networking and technology era is that students are more forward in using them as compared to their teachers.
Most of the teachers, as usual, are isolated from these technologies and avoid using it as it is very complex to understand. It is mostly observed that children are bound to take more risks in using technology as compared to their adults. They need to have proper guidance in using these technologies, which ultimately they do not get as their respective adults are unaware about the consequences of using technology in negative way.
Teachers are mostly called the builders of the society or nation, as they are given the most responsible work to shape a citizen by inculcating values among children. What teachers need today is to bond with the current generation and technical knowledge so that they could be one step ahead of their students, who will ultimately follow them.
